MedOptics Corporation was formed in 1994 to develop very high-performance, solid-state imaging systems. MedOptics grew rapidly and earned a solid reputation for providing state-of-the-art imaging technology for the medical, industrial and scientific imaging markets. MedOptics's success in developing leading-edge imaging technology caught the attention of DALSA Inc., an industry-leading producer of imaging technology located in Waterloo, Ontario, Canada. In January 2000, MedOptics became DALSA Life Sciences, a wholly-owned subsidiary of DALSA Inc.

Present

DALSA Life Sciences designs, manufactures and markets high performance, high resolution CCD and CMOS-based digital imaging systems for medical, industrial and scientific applications. Hundreds of MedOptics systems are embedded in medical imaging equipment in clinical use across the world, mainly in x-ray equipment. Intelligent Highway Control Systems currently in use at various sites across the world also incorporate hundreds of DALSA Life Sciences systems. Researchers in the US, Europe and Japan use DALSA Life Sciences cameras in many diverse scientific imaging applications including proton therapy, semiconductor manufacturing, and x-ray radiography.
